Our Programs Benefit the StudentsIf you would like to help in our mission to increase student achievement, designate a program you’d like to fund with your tax-deductible donation, or help the Board of Directors design a new program, please call (480) 839-0292 x3837. Mini GrantsTeachers submit proposals for $50 to $1,500 to fund innovative projects that boost student achievement at all grade levels and in all subject areas. Applications are available for teachers online all year. In the past, the Foundation has contributed $1,500 of the Registration fee for attendance at the National High School Model United Nations Conference, $1,500 for After School Supplies and $1,500 for student workbooks.
Tutors/MentorsThe Foundation supports mentors who help students develop positive attitudes about school, about life and about themselves. Schools receive funds for their mentoring activities. And mentors receive awards in the spring. The Foundation has funded $1,500 for the Adolescent Pregnancy and Parenting Program (APPP) Mentors and supported the Academic Urgent Care program at THS. Tempe Teacher CorpsOn their way to becoming teachers, current classified staff receives financial aid for textbooks, tuition and educational supplies from the Foundation when enrolled in our Build a Teacher Program. Our graduates return to become excellent certified classroom teachers. We recently increased the book allowance to $250 per person. Designated ScholarshipsAdministers scholarships restricted to specifications by a donor. Partnership/Support of District ProgramsWe have committed $9,000 to pay registration
fees for 12 teachers to attend biotechnology training at the request
of Staff Development. We are pursuing funding for a District Grant
writer and 501(c)(3) training for the three district Foundation boards. |
